A perfect day out if you are staying at The Sanctuary in Berkshire. Founded in 1711 by Queen Anne, Ascot remains one of the UK’s leading racecourses and maintains close association with the British Royal family. The most prestigious races are the King GeorgeVI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes in July but the World famous Royal Ascot takes place each June offering five days of top quality Flat Racing. Ascot offers both fantastic sporting and social occassion and has non horse racing events such as Christmas markets and firework displays throughout the year.

Set on the Sussex Downs, Brighton Racecourse has beautiful views of Brighton and Hove and is one of the UK’s most unique racecourse settings. With a host of flat racing fixtures between April and October there is perfect opportunity to combine horse racing and a holiday at idyllic Woodlands Park The racecourse also opens its doors for events including Antiques, Collectables and Vintage Fair and a Christmas Gift Fair.

Opening soon, Whitecliff Park situated in the enchanted Royal Forest of Dean is a great location for a racing weekend mini break. The Cheltenham Festival is one of the most prestigious National Hunt events in the racing calendar and it attracts the best British and Irish trained horses each March with races including The Queen Mother Champion Chase and The Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Close to Blossom Hill in Devon, Exeter Racecourse is known locally as Haldon racecourse as it is located at the top of the Haldon Hills. The National Hunt course set in the stunning Devon countryside plays host to an exciting calendar including Haldon gold Cup Day in November and exciting New Year’s Day racing. A firm favorite for February is Super Sundays which is great fun for the family.
When holidaying at Norfolk Park a day at Great Yarmouth Racecourse is a perfect day away from the beach! Racing highlights include Ladies Night in July, Live Music Race nights and a Summer Family Fun Day in August. Even closer to a day at the races from The Sanctuary is Newbury Racecourse. Offering an array of winter fixtures its the perfect day out for afternoon racing and events, including Worthigton’s Armed Forces Race Day for the whole family and The Ladbrokes Winter Carnival.
This year Newbury Racecourse is hosting several non racing events, including a magical Nania Christmas party and dinner on Saturday December 16.
Ideally situated close to Fornham Park and Lazy Otter Meadows, Newmarket racecourse is the headquarters of the World of Flat Horse Racing. Situated in Suffolk, Newmarket is without doubt home to some of the World’s finest horse racing. With meetings from April through to November it’s calendar highlights include the 1000 and 2000 Guineas and the Cambridgeshire meeting.
In the summer months Newmarket hosts Newmarket Nights and Summer Saturday Live from June through to August which is a host of Live music events that take place after racing. Previous artists to have played at these events include: Jools Holland, Little Mix, James and Olly Murs.
