The clocks have gone back, meaning shorter, darker days. Halloween is a distant memory, Bonfire night is done and dusted and the air has suddenly become notably crisp.
So it can only mean one thing, Christmas is fast approaching. It is time to countdown to the UK’s favourite holiday, to get into the festive spirit, fill your days with Mulled Wine, Mince Pies and Christmas carols. What better way to fill your hearts with festive cheer than to book a short break with Dream Lodge Holidays and spend time at one of the many Christmas markets during your stay.
Fornham Park, Suffolk
Just a short drive away from our Fornham Park location you will find Bury St Edmunds Christmas Fayre. Taking place over the Black Friday weekend (23rd-26th November), the Fayre offers a fantastic festive day out for all the family to enjoy. With over 300 stalls, live entertainment, lantern parade, carol concert and even a fireworks display into the evening, there will be plenty to make you feel festive.
Hilton Woods, Cornwall
If you like something a little further afield whilst staying at Hilton Woods then we would thoroughly recommend taking time to visit Padstow Christmas Festival (7-10th December). A festival that is filled with culinary heroes hosting cookery demonstrations, such as Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth, as well as the usual pop up stalls, food and drink producers with festive treats, and even a Santa Fun Run! A day spent here will be sure to be a festive filled day for all.
Blossom Hill, Devon
Staying at Blossom Hill, Devon gives you easy access to Taunton and the Christmas market at Hestercombe. Running from 17th-19th November means that you need to book quickly to take advantage of this treat. Featuring over 60 festive stalls with gifts, treats and hand-crafted items, with a huge Christmas tree providing the back drop, guests will be entertained by carollers in the courtyard whilst being able to indulge in mince pies, a slice of Yule log and creamy hot chocolate.
Lazy Otter Meadows, Cambridge
If you are planning to stay at Lazy Otter Meadows, why not take a visit to Ely Cathedral between 17-18th November for the Christmas and food fayre. This event is widely acknowledged as one of East Anglia’s exceptional shopping experiences. Taking place inside one of Cambridgeshire’s most iconic venues offers a perfect location for an enjoyable festive day out. Live demonstrations take place over the two days including festive cake decorating and seasonal floral arrangements. Saturday will see plenty of attractions for the family including a traditional carousel, elves and even reindeer.
Norfolk Park, Norfolk
Venturing to the iconic Sandringham between 17-19th November and you will find the Christmas Craft Food and Gift Fair. Wonder round the undercover craft marquees, listen to live music, enjoy the “taste before you buy” approach in the food halls, take a unicorn carriage ride and visit Santa’s reindeer. Tie this up with a weekend break at our Norfolk Park location and you have a wonderful relaxing, festive break.
Elm Farm Country Park, Essex
A holiday at Elm Farm Country Park will give you the perfect opportunity to visit Clacton’s indoor Christmas market on 3rd December. Here you will find numerous stalls offering a variety of gifts and festive treats within the hall. Outside you will find a variety of refreshments for you to enjoy.

For those staying at Woodlands Park on the 11th or 18th December, we recommend venturing out to Hastings as you will find the Christmas markets on Hastings Pier. Offering handcrafted decorations, festive treats, unusual gifts and much more, you will be bound to feel the Christmas cheer.
