Nothing beats the excitement of knowing Christmas is on its way than visiting the big man himself. Why not treat your little ones to a magical day out whilst staying at one of our parks by taking yourself to Santa’s Grotto.
To help you plan a festive day out for all the family to enjoy we have put together some of our favourite grotto’s close to our parks.
If you are staying at Fornham Park location over the coming weeks, why not take a trip to Shepreth Wildlife Park? Combining a trip to the award winning park with a visit to Santa will provide a great day out with all the family. Once your visit is complete spend time exploring the variety of wildlife – including Tigers, Meerkats and Red Pandas – wear them out at soft play or spend time in the discovery centre. A day out at Shepreth Wildlife Park will give you the ultimate alternative Christmas day out.
A trip to 4 Kingdoms Adventure Park, whilst staying at the Sanctuary, offers a “Magical Christmas Family Experience.” A two hour adventure involving Elves, Eskimos and magical animals means that Christmas will most certainly be brought to life! Beginning with a sleigh ride, the whole family will be transported back in time to Bethlehem – teaching the children all about the nativity. Next stop will be the enchanted woodland where their woodland elves will talk you to a talking tree. You then travel to a frozen castle, Santa’s mail room and Mrs Clause’s kitchen to decorate cookies before heading to Santa’s grotto to meet the man himself.
If that is not enough excitement for the day you can then carry on and explore the rest of the adventure park!
Hilton Woods is less than an hour away from The Milky Way Adventure Park where a day out filled with fun and things to do awaits, including roller coasters and indoor adventure playgrounds. This December they promise days filled with festive fun. Father Christmas and his Elves are ready to welcome all children (whether they are naughty or nice) at the magical grotto. Children will receive a free gift and can even have a go at gingerbread decorating. For those who are into arts and crafts there will be the opportunity to make your own personalised bauble and Christmas cards for a small additional charge.
Be entertained at the House of Marbles when visiting our Blossom Hill Park. Here you will be entertained for hours with a variety of marble runs, fairground mirrors and animated animals. For just £6.99 per child you can also spend time whilst visiting at Santa’s grotto where each child will receive time with Santa with a balloon, badge and small gift.
Bury Lane Farm Shop is renowned for their Father Christmas grotto, conveniently located close to Lazy Otter Meadows. There are a variety of events taking place to keep the whole family entertained, from festive food tastings (including cheese), Christmas shop and even the opportunity to have breakfast and tea with Santa himself – plus a great “Fun Barn” for the kids to let off some excess energy whilst you relax with some tea and cake.
Sussex Country Gardener have a fantastic grotto available every weekend throughout the month. For just £10 per child they will have a Winter Wonderland experience, receive reindeer food, a gift plus a framed photo to take away. Additionally you can enjoy breakfast with the big man! For £7.95 your little ones will receive a two-course breakfast and a Christmas activity gift. That’s not all; the garden centre offer many other festive activities throughout the month, a Christmas gift shop to help you pick out a few presents, food hall and café. Perfect for those staying at our Woodlands Park location.
Close to Elm Farm Country Park, you will find Colchester Zoo offering a variety of Christmas experiences to make the festive period just that little more magical. You can book to have Breakfast with Santa, where you will accompany the chief Elf to wake Santa up. Alternatively you can have Supper with Santa, which will give you the opportunity to see the magical Christmas lights in Santa’s gardens with both Santa and Mrs Claus! Either option provides an idyllic festive day out, with the opportunity to explore the rest of the zoo too.
If you are booked or planning to book into our Norfolk Park location in the coming weeks why not head over to the Dinosaur Adventure Park? Santa will be making his way over every weekend leading up to the big day and inclusively between 20-24th December. Visiting Santa here combines some festive fun with adventure at the park too. Additionally Dinosaur Adventure Park are running a variety of festive activities including the opportunity for the kids to design their own Christmas plate to leave out for Santa on Christmas Eve. Weekends at the park throughout December are bound to be fun!
