Halloween is a celebration that originates from the day of the dead, this is why we have put together this simple recipe for spooky sausage mummies. They may be dead but they’ll bring your taste buds to life.
1 sheet puff pastry
10 precooked sausages/frankfurters
Mayonnaise, for eyes
Pepper corns for the eye center
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Roll the pastry out on a lightly floured surface, then using a pasty cutter or pizza cutter, slice into 1cm strips.
Wrap the pastry strips around the sausages, like you would a mummy remembering to leave a small amount for the face, then place on a baking tray.
Bake in preheated oven until golden brown for about 20 minutes.
Wait to cool for 2 minutes and then dot on the mayonnaise for the whites of the eyes and place a peppercorn center of each dollop. Serve with tomatoes ketchup for dipping.
